Budget 2025 reflects a positive shift in response to Canada’s economic challenges. The Canadian Beverage Association (CBA) acknowledges the Government of Canada’s efforts to support the manufacturing and processing sector, reduce regulatory burdens for businesses, and enhance competitiveness. These commitments offer a more positive outlook for Canadian food and beverage producers amid rising costs and trade instability.
The non-alcoholic beverage sector supports jobs, innovation, and sustainable production in communities across Canada. To help address persistent food inflation and further enhance affordability, the CBA urges the federal government to lead in the development of a national recycling framework that harmonizes extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs, reduces recycling costs, and strengthens system efficiency across jurisdictions.
We look forward to working collaboratively with the federal government to ensure that the measures announced in Budget 2025 translate into meaningful improvements to the business climate and ensure affordability for all Canadians.
